The fall weather is upon us and it won't be long till were out there catching tog. Not far behind should be the stripers and we may not have to wait till Thanksgiving to see good numbers of stripers as the waters are five degrees cooler than the pervious two years. September was all but a bust weather wise with some serious northeast blows forcing us to cancel one overnight trip after another. This may have been a blessing in disguise though as night tuna fishing has stunk.

Don Yocum and friends joined us for an overnight tuna trip and we actually caught some fish. We pulled the hooks on two swordfish, released a hammerhead, and actually had 54 dolpnin to 20lbs overnight. We had a bachelor trip for our crew member from last year John Hazzard. With some serious wind forecasted for his overnight trip the gang opted to do some bottom fishing and had a catch of croakers and seabass. Congradulations to John and Angela who are honeymooning in Costa Rica.

Next we were joined by Kevin George who was entertained by the folks from Engenius Technologies. The fish were not near as cooperative after the strong three days of northeast winds but we managed to keep the rods bend with some small progies and croakers. After the next blow we were joined by Jim Skymba and family along with the Foltz family. We made the best of things once again loosing the overnight trip to mother nature and had a good catch of croakers and Jim's 5 lb 12 oz flounder. The boys won't have to wait to long to get into the big ones as Dad already booked a drum trip May 2009 for them. Paul Hall and family joined us the next morning for what was supposed to be a nice day according to the weatherman. Greated with 18-22 knot winds we did the best we could to provide some action. Richard Heritage and friends lost three members of their party for the overnight trip so we did some seabass fishing and it was good. Problem was the keeper ratio was not up to par. We will be fishing through mid January with a heated cabin so give us a call if you would like to get out.
