Tog fishing is in full swing and as long as conditions are good we should have good catches thru early January. We would like to congratulate Billy Poole for his 10.2lb tog which captured him third prize in the Lewes Harbor Tog tournament. Striper fishing should begin soon as we finally had water temps below 60 in the mouth if the bay. We will also be targeting stripers from this weekend thru early January as well.
We started back after the blow on the 29th with our all star crew and were still restricted by mother nature as the wind didn't subside till mid day. At that point we ventured out into the ocean to find clean water and did find some but the few fish that cooperated were small. The following morning we had Seam Smith and friends on board. We had a good bite on the tog early harvesting 10 nice keepers but after that they shut down so we settled for a mixed bag the rest of the day including 10 seabass, 3 porgies and 2 triggerfish. We were right back at it the following morning with the Vince Conway party. Renee let the charge as the group harvested a limit of tog to seven pounds plus a few for the crew. They also had a nice mixed bag including a triggerfish, two porgies and three seabass to top it off. The following day we snuck a half day trip in as a 10th birthday gift for Jacob Rucker. Jacob and family harvested a eight tog, two triggerfish and three seabass along with some throw back action.
Next we were tied to the dock for three days as Hurricane Noel passed off the coast creating a strong northeast flow. Monday we were back at it with the all star crew and harvested a limit catch plus a few for the crew all before noon. Mike Junk had big fish honors of the day releasing a 10.25lb tog and not far behind was Alex Levantowsky with a 9.5lb tog. We remain tied up today but will be right back at it as soon as the weather cooperates again. We are all booked for November but we still have some days left in December for anyone looking to get out and yes we do have a heated cabin. We are also booking trips for the 2008 season so if you have a date in mind give us a call and we'll get you penciled in.
