Grizzly Fishing Report 06-26-2013

The water temperature is taking its time rising this year which has put a bit of a strain on the early flounder fishing. Hopefully these warm temperatures get the flounder fishing kicked into high gear. We have been able to put together some nice mixed bag catches when the flounder fishing was slow. Our four hour trips have already produced excellent results on some nice mixed species catches. Sea bass fishing on the 10 hour trips is holding up and producing excellent catches. The inshore shark fishing is also very good and a lot of fun with some big fish. Canyon tuna fishing has been good as well and we should be able to catch them chunking soon.

Sorry the days got away from me but here are some of the highlights since my last report. You can also check out our Facebook page even if you are not on Facebook for up to date reports. Bernie Smelstoys and friends had a limit catch of pretty sea bass and a couple dozen ling to top things off on a ten hour trip. We then spent a week catching crappies at Trap pond with our children.

The folks from Lighthouse View bait and tackle joined us for a day of ocean flounder fishing and had a nice catch of flounder along with some nice bass and lingcod. Bernie Smelstoys and friends were back and we gave the bay flounder fishing a try. We were off to a good start with 9 nice keepers in the box. Conditions changed and we couldn't find a keeper the rest of the day except for the one that got away on the new secret bait. The guys also had all the croakers and oyster crackers they cared to catch. Don Yocum and friends joined us for our first tuna trip and we put together a fair catch including four yellowfin, a dolphin and released a big tiger shark. The Turek family joined us for a day of bottom fishing and had a nice catch of four flounder, eight sea bass and lots of croakers. Mike Winn and family joined us for a day of inshore shark fishing. Their boys had a great time releasing a bunch of brown sharks.

Give us a call if you would like to get out and remember to take the kids fishing!
