Well, it's been a while but here it is...The croakers have infested the bay. With a batch of big croakers showing up last week. Offshore has been off so far to say the least but things should improve this week. No one can explain why, so we'll not even try until the scientists can say how the surf waters along the coasts are below 70 degrees.
Fred Brubaker and friends had a nice trip this week and were the first to find the big croakers and a handful of real nice flounder. Many of the croakers were over 2 lbs with a pair topping the scales at 2 1/2 lbs. Tony Pagonis and family braved the gnarly conditions on an offshore trip and were rewarded with four makos, a blue shark and dolphin. The mako that was harvested by Karl Moline tipped the scales at 250 lbs.
Over the weekend we returned back inshore and targeted the croakers once again for Dock Yohe and friends. They were rewarded with a nice catch of croakers and 3 nice flounder. Henry Bowman and friends also joined us for a day in the bay and despite tough conditions had a good catch of croakers. Stephanie Gross and friends came along for their first fishing experience and were spoiled rotten by the large croakers in the anchorage.
