Grizzly Fishing Report 05-29-2013

We hope everyone had a safe and enjoyable Memorial Day weekend while giving thanks to our veterans. The Grizzly is proud to announce that we our going to give back to our veterans in the form of a flounder trip for our wounded veterans through the Hunters Helping Soldiers Program. It's the very least we should do for the brave men and women who defend our country. Thanks to all for your service.

You can now find Grizzly Sportfishing on Facebook. This will provide daily catch info as to what we are catching and best of all, you don't even need a face book page just click on the link from our home page. The black drum fishing has been good and should remain good thru the first week in June. The Seabass opening brought plenty of wind again so we stayed at the dock. The State of Delaware has finally announced our 2013 flounder regulation will change to 17" and a creel limit of four per angler on June 11 and remain open all year. Come on down and see us this summer and we will send you home with a bag of tasty flounder fillets.

John Joswick and friends hung in there on our first drum trip and were rewarded with a pair of nice fish to finish the night. Mike Joswick caught the biggest drum at 73 lbs. After sitting out the seabass opener, we were joined by Mark Gerdenghi and friends. We gave them the option to try drum fishing for the day and it was the right call. They caught a limit of 12 drum, harvesting one a piece along with one for the crew and released the rest. Thanks for preserving the stock. We gave flounder fishing a quick try on our way home and harvested our first keeper along with a couple of shorts.

After canceling four more trips due to bad weather, John Mattson, family and friends joined us for a day of seabass fishing. We had a great day harvesting 121 tasty fish including seabass, ling, and cod. Big fish of the day award went to the 7lb cod.

Give us a call if you would like to get out! Remember to take the kids fishing this year.
