Wind and more wind! It seems that we have been gotten a lot of wind lately. We did get a let up on Saturday and since it was so nice I decieded to make a long run to a wreck I have not been to for a quite some time. Even though there was not much wind it was enough against the tide to give us a fit trying to keep the boat anchored over the wreck.

Our charter group was Dave Wright from Lewes and Steve Scaffo from Milton with James Ester Sr & Jr and Dave Pitcher from Townsend. The group was patient considering all the times I had to re-anchor but it paid off with a fine catch of fat Delaware tautog. Even though we had a few undersized tog, that we released, most of the catch was fish in the 4 to 6 pound range. Some were larger citation size up to a 13lb 2oz trophy tog thet Capt Jerry caught. Not bad for mid-February. Sea water is still in the mid-fourties and I saw lots of bait from the inlet all the way to 25 miles offshore. I didn't see anything that looked like mackerel but it is only a matter of time considering the warmer than usual water. A friend called on the cell phone to let me know of his striper catches inshore the same day.
