Seabass still dominate the ocean bottom fishing scene and seatrout is the deal in the bay. On a recent ocean wreck fishing trip with Fred Robinson and friends we had a limit of seabass in a few hours. They also caught some flounder in the 4-5 pound range which was a surprise. Then we were invaded by a school of trout on the same wreck. Most were undersized but we did manage to keep a few.

Bay fishing for seatrout has been pretty good over structure using bucktails and jigs. Joe Evans and group had a good catch of trout eariler in the past week with some in the four pound range. Later in the week Terry Sherk and family were along for a trout trip and grand daughter Amanda showed everyone up by catching one after the other. She had one close to five pounds. But all that changed on the weekend when my favorite hot spot was crowded with boats and that usually means slow fishing for everyone. We managed a couple of trout than moved to get away from the fleet but by then the current picked up and fishing was really slow but Dave Eckhart and friends did manage some nice tog while trout fishing. We call it a Saturday sting.
